On 29 July 2024 I cycled from the flat in Edinburgh to Mangersta (Isle of Lewis) and back. It took seven days - soup to nuts.

The places I slept were Pitlochry (on a bench), Inverness (in a park), Stornoway (on the ground at the harbour), Ullapool (on a bench), Inverness (in a park) and Kingussie (in a guesthouse). On the way back I met up with Gianluca: I used to work with him but now he is a ranger at Cairngorms National Park. He looks after the hills and talks to people.
